Mission Statement
We strive to provide quality Islamic education and a strong foundation for the families of the Shia community by planting the seeds of faith and inspiring confidence, passion, and love of Islam and the Ahlul Bayt (as).
Program description
We strive to implant the love of Islam, the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Ahlul Bayt (as) and to cultivate the Muslim identity of our students by creating a safe environment for them to express themselves and nurture deep and meaningful friendships. We do our best to follow the Islamic recommended steps given to us by our Ma’soomin (as) to enable progress according to the child’s age and abilities. We follow the curriculum developed under the supervision of Maulana Abidi and the team at Kisa Foundation, called Steps to Perfection. We accept students starting at 4 years of age and we continue to work with students as they grow into young adults and integrate into the masjid and youth groups.
JIS is governed by a set of bylaws.In addition to numerous teacher and parent volunteers, JIS has a five-member board elected biannually, consisting of a Principal, a Secretary, a Treasurer, Activities and Events Planner and PR administrator.
God revealed to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him):
"O Moses, learn goodness and teach it to people, for verily I enlighten the graves of the teachers and the learners of goodness, so that they never feel afraid in their resting place."
